Google opens applications for Startup Accelerator Africa cohort 10

Google has announced the opening of applications for the 10th cohort of the Google for Startups Accelerator Africa, with entries open until March 18, 2026.

The 12-week hybrid programme targets Series A startups based in Africa or building Africa-focused solutions using AI and machine learning. Selected startups will gain access to Google’s AI expertise, technical support, mentorship from global experts, and networking opportunities across the tech ecosystem.

Speaking on the new cohort, Head of Startup Ecosystem Africa at Google, Folarin Aiyegbusi, said Africa’s tech scene is shifting toward deep tech innovation, adding that the programme will help turn startups into “the research labs of the continent,” especially in sectors with strong societal impact.

– Supported 180+ startups across 17 African countries

– Startups have raised $350m+ and created 3,700+ jobs

Focus areas: healthcare, climate, agriculture, and other impact-driven sectors

Nigeria spotlight Six Nigerian startups were selected in Cohort 9, including E-doc Online, GoNomad, Midddleman, Myltura, Pastel, and Scandium, reflecting Nigeria’s growing influence in Africa’s innovation ecosystem.
