The election, which was initially scheduled to hold today, 5th of October, 2025 has now been put on hold until further notice. Stakeholders emphasized that the safety of all participants and the credibility of the process remain the forum’s top priorities.

A member of the committee, who spoke on condition of anonymity, stated that, It’s important we conduct an election that is peaceful, transparent, and credible. We cannot afford to put the lives of our members at risk.

Meanwhile, youths and delegates across the local government  have been urged to remain calm and law-abiding as a new date will be communicated once the necessary conditions for a safe election are guaranteed.

This postponement underscores the commitment of the Akoko North East Youth Forum  to ensure a fair and secure democratic process that truly represents the will of the people.

Signed:
Electoral Committee Members.
