The intense legal battle that has gripped the global tech ecosystem for the past three weeks has finally come to an end—at least for now. Tech billionaire Elon Musk has suffered a major setback in a U.S. court after a jury ruled against him in his high-stakes lawsuit against artificial intelligence giant, OpenAI, and its chief executive, Sam Altman.
Musk had dragged the tech firm to court, accusing Altman of breaching an early non-profit contract by shifting the creators of ChatGPT into a multi-billion-dollar commercial entity, despite Musk having donated $38 million to the project in its foundational years.
Thrown Out On Technical Grounds
However, the jury did not rule on whether Altman breached the contract. Instead, the court threw out the case after finding that Elon Musk had simply left it too late to file the lawsuit.
“It’s a mere technicality!” a visibly displeased Musk slammed the court verdict, vowing that his legal team would immediately file an appeal to challenge the ruling.
With Musk refusing to back down, the global tech community is bracing for round two of a corporate rivalry that could shape the future of artificial intelligence.
