Nneka Dim, a psychologist from the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) in Enugu, has emphasized the importance for Nigerian youths to avoid drug abuse in order to lead responsible lives.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, Dim expressed concern about the alarming prevalence of drug abuse among youths, citing potential long-term consequences such as deteriorating mental health and impaired cognitive functions.
She emphasized the need for resistance to peer pressure, abstinence from drug use, and adopting healthy coping mechanisms to prevent substance abuse among the younger generation.
