Four arrested over murder of Ebonyi PDP ward chairman

The Ebonyi State Police Command has paraded four suspects in connection with the murder of Mr Peter Nweke, the Peoples Democratic Party’s ward chairman in Ezza North Local Government Area of the state.

DAILY POST recalls that Nweke was murdered in Ezza North during the March 18 gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections.

The Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, in a press conference in Abakaliki on Friday, also revealed that no fewer than 21 persons have been declared wanted in connection with the crime.

The arrested four suspects, all male, are Onyebuchi Chita, Ifeanyi Nwokpuku, Aloke Obinna and Kelechi Nwali.

According to the police PRO: “Sequel to the dastardly act, the Commissioner of Police, Faleye S. Olaleye, tasked all police officers in the command to fish out all of those responsible for the killing.

“Consequently, on March 28, four suspects were arrested in connection with the death of Mr Peter Nweke.”
