Legendary American gospel singer, worship leader, and pastor Ron Kenoly has passed away at the age of 81. His death was confirmed on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, sparking heartfelt tributes from Christian music communities and worship leaders around the world.
Kenoly was widely celebrated for his powerful live worship recordings and his pioneering role in shaping contemporary praise and worship music. Born December 6, 1944, in Coffeyville, Kansas, Kenoly rose to global prominence in the early 1990s with Lift Him Up With Ron Kenoly (1992), an album that helped redefine praise music. Timeless songs such as “Ancient of Days,” “Jesus Is Alive,” and “We’re Going Up” became enduring worship classics.
