Senator Shehu Sani, a social critic and former lawmaker, has voiced his dissatisfaction with the way that political leaders embezzle money from the federal government.
According to Sani, a small number of people in government positions steal billions of naira every day while the education sector is negatively impacted.
The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development faced accusations of financial misappropriation, which prompted the release of the statement.
According to a report published in the Daily Post, representatives from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC, have questioned former minister Sadiya Umar-Farouq and currently suspended minister Betta Edu about the matter.
When billions of Naira were being stolen by a private company, Sani lamented the fact that tuition fees were “callously” raised in public universities and polytechnics because “there is no money to fund public tertiary education.”
