A primary school in the Kaigama ward of Bali Local Government Area, Taraba State, has been left in ruins for two years after being destroyed by a windstorm. The school has been in this condition for over 24 months, and calls for prompt help have proven useless.
The state has been housing 499,923 out-of-school children, indicating a dire state of education. Cases of abandonment of capital projects have been common in Taraba State since 2020.
The government has failed to deliver the 230-kilometre Gembu road, which was awarded to different contractors.
Both the Federal and State governments have failed to deliver the road, siphoning billions in yearly releases while commuters continue to suffer.
The Taraba State Ministry of Works and Transport has dubiously claimed the project was done, citing the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Bali – Serti – Gembu road as achievements.
