The Lagos State Government has announced an eight-month partial closure of sections along the Lekki–Ajah corridor to facilitate major road rehabilitation and improvement works

According to the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the project is aimed at reducing traffic congestion and improving the overall driving experience along one of Lagos’ busiest routes.

The partial closure will begin on Saturday, November 15, 2025, and is expected to be completed by Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

During the repair period, one lane will remain open to traffic while work is carried out on the other, with the arrangement alternating as construction progresses.

Residents and motorists are therefore advised to plan their trips ahead of time, as traffic diversions and alternative routes will be introduced to ease movement throughout the duration of the project.
