Dangote Sugar just made N63 billion from one customer — and it’s Coca-Cola’s bottler 

Dangote Sugar Plc posted a significant turnaround in Q2 2025, recording a pre-tax profit of N523.8 million, following several quarters of losses. This recovery was fueled by robust sales performance, strategic cost management, and strong contributions from key clients—particularly the Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC), which accounted for 31.74% of the company’s Q2 revenue.

Total Revenue: N216.2 billion — up 25.09% from N172.8 billion in Q2 2024.

Sales to NBC: Over N63 billion, recorded under the Lagos region — the company’s top-performing market.

Large-scale distributors contributed 65% of total revenue.

Dangote Sugar supplies unfortified sugar to industrial clients like beverage and pharmaceutical companies, while Vitamin A-fortified sugar is targeted at retail markets through smaller wholesalers, bakeries, and micro-businesses. Retail packs include 250g, 500g, and 1kg sizes, aimed at everyday consumers.

Total Revenue: N430.2 billion — a 45.53% increase from H1 2024.

        50kg Bag Sales: N416.8 billion (+46.68%)

        Retail Pack Sales: N10 billion (up from N8.6 billion)

        Molasses Sales: N3.2 billion

        Freight Income: N39.8 million

Regional Sales Breakdown:

        Lagos: N228.1 billion (up from N180.1 billion)

        North: N163.4 billion (a remarkable 98.36% growth)

        West (ex-Lagos): N28.5 billion (up from N24 billion)

        East: N10 billion (up from N9 billion)

 Finance Cost Reduction:

Dangote Sugar also made remarkable strides in cutting down costs:

        Q2 Finance Costs: N35.1 billion — a 68.56% reduction from N111.6 billion in Q2 2024.

        H1 Finance Costs: N64.9 billion — down from N234.1 billion in H1 2024.

        Exchange Losses: Reduced from N193.6 billion to N160.2 billion.

        Letter of Credit Costs: Dropped from N32.1 billion to N21.9 billion.

 Net Finance Costs (Q2): N34.6 billion (down from N109.3 billion), after finance income of N457.4 million

Dangote Sugar’s strong revenue growth, led by strategic partnerships and a diversified distribution model, coupled with aggressive cost optimization, has returned the company to profitability. With its largest client, NBC, contributing significantly to its revenue, and regional markets—especially the North—showing strong momentum, Dangote Sugar is poised for continued recovery and growth in the coming quarters.
