Gov Sule Refutes Claims of Buhari Malami Planning to Exit APC Ahead of 2027 Elections

As Nigeria builds momentum toward the 2027 general elections, Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has addressed and firmly dismissed widespread rumors alleging that former President Muhammadu Buhari, former Attorney General Abubakar Malami, and other key figures from the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) are considering leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking to reporters in Lafia, Governor Sule emphasized that efforts to create division within the party have not only failed but are being driven by individuals who wish to destabilize the APC.

“There is nothing like taking CPC away from APC. Former President Muhammadu Buhari is CPC no one else. Wherever he stands, his 12 million loyal supporters stand with him. And he is going nowhere,” Sule declared.

He also reiterated the unwavering loyalty of Malami and other notable CPC affiliates, stating that attempts to lure them away will not succeed.

“They want to take Malami away, but let me tell you: Malami is going nowhere. That’s why we visited Baba (Buhari) in Kaduna. We told him, ‘You are not going anywhere.’”

Governor Sule’s remarks follow reports that some CPC aligned members feel marginalized under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, raising fears of possible internal party divisions. However, Sule maintains that the APC remains strong and united ahead of the 2027 elections.
